Ruby Emmen

Ruby Emmen has been singing on the stages of Idaho since the age of fifteen. The beloved high school band “calico” carried Ruby and friends to many exciting places: playing as the Mayor’s special guest at Boise’s State of the City address, the EMP Museum and KEXP in Seattle, and across the radio waves of the Treasure Valley.

Graduating high school, Ruby joined with Hollow Wood, adding her vocals and keys to this up and coming Boise folk rock band. Together they toured across the US and parts of Canada, opening for performers like Nikki Lane and Brandi Carlile. Between playing at the Sundance Movie Festival and seeing the Grand Canyon on tour, the days spent playing in Hollow Wood will forever be a treasured time.

A songwriter at heart, Ruby returned to start Cult Bride with local music fixture Jun Campion. Together they built a unique “spooky folk rock” sound, mixing viola, piano, electric guitars and haunting melodies with finesse. The EMP Museum welcomed Ruby and friends back to Seattle to play once more for the Sound Off! Battle of the bands.

Following  years of playing in bands, Ruby started a solo piano project, Ruby Kane. Always delighted to play Treefort, Ruby packed the house with loyal family, friends and fans.

After spending some time away from the stage, Ruby has returned with her country debut, Ruby Emmen. Playing solo or with her friends in The Valley County Band, she continues to stay true to her Idaho roots. Compassion, connection and integrity are all at the heart of the songs Ruby writes.

“The goal above all else is to help people through music, to be a good neighbor, and to laugh often with my friends. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me. It will be my lucky day when I get the chance to get to know you, too.

Until then, Take care.
